Our board of Trustees and Executive Team play a very important role in the running of the charity.

What are Trustees?

Trustees are volunteers who are responsible for the governance of the organisation; ensuring that the we are working within our core principles to achieve the charity’s long term goals. Our Board of Trustees work together to take overall responsibility for the Charity and are committed to upholding Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s vision, mission and values. We always welcome interest from passionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of our Charity, ensuring we continue to make a lasting impact on dog welfare.

Our Board of Trustees

Ian Cawsey (Chair)

Ian Cawsey is the Chair of Trustees at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, ensuring strong governance and strategic oversight. With over 15 years in animal welfare and a background in government, he brings valuable expertise to the Charity, working closely with the CEO and Board to support its mission.
Passionate about trusteeship, Ian encourages others to get involved, highlighting the rewarding nature of shaping a charity’s future. He believes diverse skills strengthen boards and urges those interested to explore opportunities, whether as a trustee or volunteer.
Ian is also Director of Advocacy & Campaigns at The Donkey Sanctuary, leading international efforts to improve donkey welfare.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing in his 60s band, The Moggies, and hosting Sunday dinners with family and friends.

Jayne Chudley (Vice Chair)

As Vice Chair of Jerry Green Dog Rescue since 2016, Jayne supports the Chair in ensuring strong governance and strategic direction for the charity. She plays an active role in policy development, board meetings, and overseeing operations to ensure the highest standards of care for rescue dogs.
With extensive experience as a business owner and former vice chair of governors, Jayne brings valuable strategic insight. Her background in funding support and community work has given her a deep understanding of charitable operations and the challenges faced by vulnerable groups.
Jayne loves being part of a passionate team dedicated to improving dog welfare. She encourages anyone considering a trustee role to get involved, as it’s a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference. Outside of JGDR, she runs a coaching and training business and enjoys weekends exploring Beverley with her rescue dogs.

Paul McCartan (Secretary)

Paul has been the Secretary of the Board of Trustees at Jerry Green Dog Rescue since 2016, supporting the Board in maintaining strong governance and smooth operations. In his role, he coordinates trustee meetings, manages minutes, and works closely with the leadership team to ensure effective communication across the charity. With a lifelong passion for animal welfare and a strong connection to Jerry Green Dog Rescue as a respected local charity, Paul was delighted to join the board. He is driven by the knowledge that his contribution helps dogs find their forever homes and brings happiness to the families who adopt them. Professionally, Paul is a HR Manager in East Yorkshire. He brings valuable experience in people management, strategic decision-making, and organisational development to the board, along with an open and curious approach to learning more about the animal welfare sector. Paul encourages anyone considering a trustee role to explore the opportunity, sharing, “You don’t have to be an expert in animal welfare, there are so many skills that can make a difference, and yours might be just what’s needed.” Outside of work and trusteeship, he enjoys staying active and can often be found playing badminton on weekends.

Sarah Wilson (Trustee)

Sarah has been a Trustee at Jerry Green Dog Rescue since December 2023, using her 15 years of marketing, PR, and communications experience to support the Charity’s strategic direction. She joined to contribute her skills to a local organisation she admires while also learning and developing in a new sector.
Sarah loves being part of a charity where every team is passionate about dog welfare and making a real difference. Outside JGDR, Sarah is a PR & Communications Manager, leading a team responsible for marketing, media, and digital communications.
For those considering becoming a Trustee, Sarah highly recommends it, especially for those outside the charity sector. She shares, “It’s a rewarding way to apply professional skills while supporting a cause that puts dogs at its heart.” In her spare time, Sarah enjoy countryside walks, pub lunches with family, and live music festivals.

Lynn Hewison (Trustee)

Lynn has been working in the field of animal behaviour seeing both dogs and cats through veterinary referral since 2012, recognised as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the Animal Behaviour Training Council (ABTC). She joined the Jerry Green Dog Rescue Board of Trustees in 2016 and has extensive practical experience through teaching classes and working in a variety of settings with both private clients and other professionals. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has taught on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Clinical Animal Behaviour. She has also been involved in research and has co-authored on journals published within the clinical animal behaviour field. She has a strong interest in problem prevention and kennel welfare, and she has a wealth of practical experience in a variety of kennel environments, including private breeding and rescue.

Our Welfare Advisory Group is a subcommittee of our Board of Trustees and includes the following committee members: Lynn Hewison (Chair), Shelley Wilks (Committee Member & Deputy CEO and Head of Welfare), Emma Pannell (Committee Member & North Lincolnshire Centre Manager), Joanne Hickson (Committee Member & South Lincolnshire Centre Manager) and Zoe Gummoe (Committee Member & Marketing Manager)

Our Executive Team

The Executive Team at Jerry Green Dog Rescue are responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the Charity. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the team ensures the successful delivery of our strategic goals while upholding our vision, mission, and values. Dedicated to the welfare of every dog in our care, the Executive Team oversees key areas including welfare, fundraising, marketing, finance, retail—driving forward initiatives that enable us to support more dogs and their owners each year.

Christina Marriott (Chief Executive)

Christina joined Jerry Green Dog Rescue as CEO in February 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience from the charity sector, including leadership roles at the British Red Cross, RSPH, and Revolving Doors Agency. With a background in national NHS roles, academia, and marketing, she combines strategic insight with a passion for improving lives, both human and canine.
Her role is focused on four key areas: ensuring Jerry Green Dog Rescue helps as many dogs as possible, supporting and empowering the team of staff and volunteers, securing financial sustainability, and keeping the Board well-informed to oversee the charity effectively. Day to day, this means a varied schedule; visiting centres, meeting volunteers and supporters, engaging with corporate partners, and advocating for animal welfare at industry and parliamentary events.
Christina’s love for dogs is lifelong, and if she had to pick a favourite breed, it would be the Labrador, her first childhood dog was a black Lab, and she now shares her adventures with a yellow Lab. When she’s not working, she enjoys camping with friends, setting up her car-top tent in under a minute while her dog settles in the car for the night.

Shelley Wilks (Deputy CEO & Head of Welfare)

Shelley has worked in animal welfare for over 35 years and has been part of Jerry Green Dog Rescue since 2013, bringing invaluable experience and leadership. Starting her career as a dog rehomer, she now supports our centre and community teams and ensures we maintain high welfare standards across all services. She loves seeing dogs thrive and staff develop in their roles. Outside of work, Shelley enjoys countryside walks with her dog Ted, ideally ending in a pub garden. Her favourite breed? “Rescue – that’s the best breed.”

Nancy Grimshaw (Head of Fundraising & Marketing)

Overseeing the Fundraising, Marketing, and Volunteering teams, Nancy plays a key role in raising vital funds, increasing awareness, and supporting our dedicated volunteers. With over a decade of experience in fundraising and marketing for charities like Mencap, ActionAid UK, and Diabetes UK, she brings a wealth of expertise to help drive our ambitious growth plans.
Passionate about engaging with supporters, she loves seeing the impact of donations, adoptions, and volunteer efforts. Outside of work, Nancy enjoys long runs in the Peak District, pub lunches, and a game of Rummikub. Her favourite dog breed? A spaniel; full of energy and endless enthusiasm!

Lynne McMahon (Head of Retail)

Lynne joined Jerry Green Dog Rescue as Head of Retail in April 2025, bringing 40 years of experience within the charity retail sector. Having worked with a variety of small and large organisations, Lynne has a vast range of ideas to support the exciting expansion of retail. She enjoys that her days are varied, involving a mixture of tasks including visiting potential new shop sites. Lynne’s favourite dog breed is a Great Dane, finding similarities to herself in their tall appearance and bouncy personalities.

Amanda Raworth (Central Office & Facilities Manager)

With over 30 years at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, Amanda brings a wealth of experience and dedication to both the people, the organisation and the dogs. Her role is incredibly varied, providing support across multiple areas while ensuring the Charity continues to thrive. No two days are ever the same, and the best part is sharing every moment with the dogs who need us most.
Outside of work, Amanda loves spending weekends with family, exploring different parts of the UK, and, of course, enjoying time with her own dogs; Alfie, Loki and Raven. When it comes to a favourite breed, Huskies hold a special place in Amanda’s heart, their cheeky, stubborn, and lovable nature wrapped up in an endless bundle of fluff makes them truly special.

Sandra Marshall (Finance Manager)

As Finance Manager, Sandra oversees all financial operations at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, from managing daily income and expenses to producing management accounts, budgets, payroll, and financial analysis. Her role also includes handling VAT, Gift Aid, and liaising with banks, auditors, and other professional advisors to ensure the charity’s financial stability.
A qualified Chartered Accountant, Sandra brings over 20 years of experience in accountancy, including working with charities. Since joining in 2022, Sandra has found the most rewarding part of her role is knowing that her work indirectly supports the care of the dogs in need.
Outside of work, Sandra enjoys spending weekends with family, whether out on a walk or curled up with a good book. When it comes to dogs, her heart belongs to rescue dogs, having had many different breeds over the years. Her most recent companion was a boxer; playful, goofy, intelligent, and incredibly affectionate.
