From fear to trust
When Heather first arrived, she was overwhelmed. I built her trust through a consistent routine, always being a gentle presence and using lots of positive reinforcement.
Meet Laura, Dog Welfare Assistant (South Lincolnshire Centre)
My colleagues and I provide the highest standard of care to our dogs across our centres in Nottinghamshire, North and South Lincolnshire and through our community initiatives in East Yorkshire. But we simply can’t do it without kind supporters like you.
It can cost around £4,000 to care for just one dog like Heather.
£4,000 is a lot of money, but if just 1% of people reading this story give £50, we’d have enough for 10 dogs.
I know you care about dogs like Heather – and want them to get the love and care they deserve.
It was an honour to be by Heather’s side as she gave birth to her nine puppies here at Jerry Green Dog Rescue.
The birth went smoothly, and her maternal instincts were strong.
She cleaned each pup herself and began feeding them right away. By the end she was exhausted, but she managed beautifully.
When Heather first arrived, she was overwhelmed. I built her trust through a consistent routine, always being a gentle presence and using lots of positive reinforcement.
Every day more dogs like Heather come to Jerry Green Dog Rescue in need of support.
And today you can help give dogs like Heather the care they need.
It’s been so rewarding to watch Heather blossom. She’s now affectionate, playful, and full of life. She does little zoomies in the garden and greets the staff with her paws up and a wagging tail.
Heather enjoys gentle walks around our centre – they give her a break and give us a chance to clean her space and keep an eye on the puppies’ growth. She always loves curling back up with them afterwards.
Please give £50 – or whatever you can afford so a dog like Heather gets the care they need.
With heartfelt thanks from all of us at Jerry Green Dog Rescue,
Laura
