Many people expect to feel heartbroken when they lose a dog, family member, or friend. But what can take you by surprise is just how deep the grief goes, how suddenly your emotions can change, and how long those feelings can last. Others might think you should be “back to normal” after a few weeks or months, but when you’ve lost someone who meant the world to you, it’s not that simple.
The bond we share with those we love whether that be our dogs, a family member or friend, is truly special. When they’re no longer by our side, the sense of loss can feel overwhelming. And while everyone’s grief is unique, you may find comfort in talking to someone who understands what you’re going through.
That’s why we offer GriefChat. Sometimes, it’s easier to share your feelings with someone outside of your friends and family. GriefChat was created by bereavement experts to give people a safe space to talk about their loss – whether that’s the loss of a dog, a family member, or friend.
By clicking on the GriefChat box below, you’ll be connected directly with a trained bereavement counsellor. They’ll listen to your story, explore how your grief is affecting you, and help you find any further support you may need.
GriefChat is:

Free of charge
-

You don’t have to go through this alone. GriefChat and Jerry Green Dog Rescue are here to support you whenever you’re ready to talk.
